Background
Barclays, a leading global financial services provider, recently partnered with Clear Workspace to manage a major furniture and workspace transition project as part of a broader workplace refresh. This multi-phase initiative was designed to modernise office layouts, support employee wellbeing, and deliver on key sustainability objectives. Clear Workspace was brought on board for their ability to provide a seamless, end-to-end solution across relocation, installation, refurbishment, and reuse.
The Project
The project involved the relocation of over 500 workstations, a task requiring precision logistics and careful planning to minimise disruption to staff and operations. In parallel, Clear Workspace oversaw the storage, delivery, and installation of 900 new chairs, ensuring a high-quality, ready-to-use setup on arrival. A key part of the sustainability strategy included the buyback and removal of 700 existing chairs, enabling them to be reused or responsibly repurposed instead of being sent to landfill. Additionally, Clear Workspace carried out a deep clean of all retained furniture, enhancing both appearance and hygiene while extending the lifecycle of existing assets.
